I had never been to a chiropractor before Dr. Willie Yip, but my apprehension was quickly alleviated when Dr. Willie Yip took the time to explain the entire process. I first saw Dr. Bobby Yip on September 20, 2011. Before I saw him I injured my left foot playing badminton on June 20, 2011. I first sought out laser treatments and physio on my injured foot. My foot had plantar fasciitis and as well as achilles tendinosis and calf muscle damage. I had these treatments for 4 weeks before seeing Dr. Yip. My foot injury improved about 80% after I had about 8 treatments. I was involved in a car accident 3 weeks ago and had terrible neck pain. I came to Apex Chiropractic after my ICBC adjuster told me about a free chiropractic treatment program that Apex is part of. I really appreciated that Dr. Bobby Yip took the time to explain to me where my pain was coming from. I felt like his treatment plan was very reasonable and goal-oriented (unlike some chiros who’s’ goal is to lock you in for years of frequent visits). I was hesitant to have my neck cracked but Dr. Yip uses a variety of different techniques such as muscle stretching and a tool that provides a light adjustment without cracking. In June of 2010, I was rear-ended twice in 3 days. My car was completely written off; the impact was so great. I spent months going to doctors and physio. It was a long process and after about 7 months I thought I was feeling better. As luck would have it, I was rear-ended yet again. You may not think this sounds lucky, but it was, specifically because it helped me find Apex Chiropractic. As the 3rd rear-ender was not a very significant impact, my insurance adjuster recommended massage therapy. I found Apex, as they were close to my home. I went and was greeted professionally and welcomed into what would be my greatest medical success story to date. Not only did I end up receiving massage therapy, but was also treated by their chiropractors. After the very first session, my range of motion was remarkably better. I could move easily and pain-free to shoulder check in my car for the first time in almost a year. To think that I was leery of chiropractic and almost didn't take the treatment... I would have done my body a huge disservice. Fortunately, the chiropractors at Apex were knowledgeable and compassionate, and were able to tell me how they envisioned chiropractic care helping me. Prior to the care, I couldn't lift both arms above my head and I'm able to now start with little movements. I found that I'm responding better to this treatment than with massage therapy. I am pleased with the results and look forward to being able to return to my mobility prior to the accident. The small improvements helped me cope better with pain and inflammation in my neck and shoulder decreasing my sick hours at work and I am slightly more mobile and have experienced a slight increase in energy level. Laser Therapy - Deep Tissue LiteCure
Prior to visiting Apex I had been in pain: headache, tight nagging pain at the base of skull, top of neck, and severe lower back tightness pain when sitting especially in a car, then getting up from sitting and not being able to stand and walk erect for several moments. This pain had occurred many times over 15-20 years and I have been taking Tylenol with codine and ibuprofen for way too long. But the current back and neck pain had been severe for 6 weeks; I could barely stand and had to lay on my side for hours for relief. After the third treatment I noticed improvement, after treatment 5 I started painting my house, after 7 treatments my house is painted and I take no more than the odd ASA for minor pain. Dr. Willie Yip treated a huge bruise on my leg and with 6 treatments about 2 minutes long, it disappeared and wasn’t painful any longer. He informed me how the laser can help minimize and eventually get rid of the bruise which gave me confidence in the laser therapy. Day by day, I would see the progress and I was really impressed how fast it healed since bruises take a couple of months to disappear. I sprained my wrist bench pressing and Dr. Willie told my to try laser. I was wary at first since I have tried laser before and it did not work for me, but Dr. Willie explained that the deep tissue laser is different so I tried it and I am glad that I did. After waking up with a stiff neck, I went to the clinic. The chiropractor suggested that I should get laser therapy so I thought that I would try it. Shockwave Therapy
I developed pain in my right upper back, shoulder and upper arm in January so I had physiotherapy and was directed to have an ultrasound which was done at the beginning of June. At this time the pain was no longer controlled with ibuprofen 400 mg three times a day and woke me up every night. I had a calcificaction in the subscapularis tendon so sought alternatives to 12-18 months of physio. I discovered Apex Chiropractic and the shockwave therapy has reduced the pain from 8-9/10 to 0-1/10 in 8 treatments. Thank you. --Geraldine*
After years of repetitive use I ended up with calcific tendonitis in both rotator cuffs from work, golf, and exercising. With a loss of strength and flexibilty, inability to get a full nights sleep and not able to play golf any longer I decided to try shockwave therapy. With the thought of cortisone and anti-inflamatories the only options it made sense to give it a shot. After the first visit I found the strength coming back. After a full set of therapy I was able to sleep, got 80-90% of strength and mobility back and was able to swing a golf club with a 3/4 swing. This was the only treatment that was going to eliminate the problem rather than masking the symptoms. After my third and final treatment, I no longer have any problems. I have put up with plantar fasciitis for over 10 years and now I am cured. Spinal Decompression
I had one herniated disc and two disc bulges. I heard about spinal decompression therapy through my family doctor who had it himself so I decided to give it a try. The office that I first went to wanted to charge me $4000 for the treatments so I looked at other offices. The second office charged me less but after 10 treatments I didn't feel much change. I don't think that it was even decompression that they were using since the table was so small, probably was just traction. Then I heard about Apex! The docs are very nice and explained to me that decompression was different. It sure was! After just 2 treatments I began to feel the pain melt away. Today I am pain free and able to return to play badminton and golf. Best part was I paid much less than $4000! --Chris*
Bowen Therapy
I read about Bowen Therapy on Apex site and thought I would give it a try because I was in so much pain all over my body and very congested. I have tried so many different things and it didn't help me much. Dr. Alice told me that my body would go through some changes after couple of days of the treatment. I didn't know what to expect. After two days...Oh Boy did I detox for the next 4-5 days. I couldn't believe what my body went through after just one treatment. Then I had another treatment the following week and started noticing my aches and pains were getting less then I had the third treatment.
